Do's and Don'ts During the Mela

Follow these important guidelines to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience during the event.

Do's

  • Follow all instructions given by authorities and volunteers.
  • Keep emergency contact numbers handy.
  • Stay hydrated and carry drinking water.
  • Respect local customs and traditions.
  • Use public toilets and dustbins provided at the venue.
  • Keep your belongings safe and secure.
  • Cooperate with security checks and crowd control.
  • Maintain social distancing in crowded areas.
  • Dispose of waste in dustbins ONLY.
  • Use designated resting areas and camps set up by NGOs or the administration.
  • Get medical help early if you feel faint, nauseous, or dizzy.
  • Dispose of offerings like flowers/leaves properly in designated areas.
  • Respect women and elders—offer assistance when needed.
  • Inform police/help desks if you find a lost child, elderly person, or suspicious object.

Don'ts

  • Don’t carry prohibited items like weapons or firecrackers.
  • Don’t push or create panic in crowded zones.
  • Don’t litter or pollute water bodies.
  • Don’t consume alcohol or drugs during the mela.
  • Don’t block or misuse emergency exits or facilities.
  • Don’t harass or misbehave with fellow visitors.
  • Don’t park vehicles in no-parking zones.
  • Don’t use plastic bags – help us keep the environment clean.
  • Don’t post unverified content on social media.
  • Don’t misbehave or push others in queues, especially inside the temple.
  • Don’t litter or spit on roads, ghats, or near the temple.
  • Don’t ignore signs of exhaustion—seek help early.
  • DJ of all sorts is strictly prohibited.
  • Don’t dump leftover food or oil on roads or near campsites. Use designated waste bins.
  • Strictly avoid urination in public places. Use latrines.
  • Don’t block roads by forming human chains or sitting on the roads.
  • Don’t carry inflammable materials like kerosene stoves or firecrackers.
  • Don’t touch electrical installations or fuse boxes.
