Ganga Aarti at Chandannagar Rani Ghat 2024
In 2024, the Hooghly district administration organized Ganga Aarti event at Rani Ghat. For the first time, this programme was held at Rani Ghat, a popular spot on the banks of the Hooghly River in Chandannagar. The event took place during the auspicious Shrabani Mela in the month of August.
In the evening, priests performed the Ganga Aarti by lighting diyas and chanting prayers to the holy Ganga River. The Aarti took place at sunset, creating a peaceful and auspicious atmosphere. The boat, along with the priests and cultural artists, then moved to Nimaitirtha ghat and performed Ganga Aarti there as well. Thousands of people witnessed the event.
